Educational Facilities

Schools in Cleveland County such as Washington, Burns and the Kings Mountain Schools serve the five developments of Woodbridge.  School choice is dependent on lot location but options to attend a school other than the assigned is considered and permitted through application to the Cleveland County School System.  With a school population of approximately 18,000 and 28 schools, the system is large enough to offer a challenging and varied curriculum but not to large to be impersonal.   Cleveland Community College, Isothermal Community College and Gaston College offer a wide variety of Associate Degrees as well as vocational training.  Graduate and post graduate education if offered at Gardner Webb University located in Boiling Springs, NC and UNCC in Charlotte, NC.  Nearby in Spartanburg, South Carolina are Wofford College, Converse College and USC Upstate.

Leisure Opportunities

Two country clubs with golf, tennis and swimming are within a ten minute drive of the Woodbridge communities; Cleveland Country Club in Shelby and Kings Mountain Country Club in Kings Mountain.  Golf only is available at semi-private clubs in the area, including Woodbridge Golf Links, Deerbrook Golf Club, Riverbend Golf Club and Pine Grove Golf Club.  In our community, Club Woodbridge is a private tennis and swim club offering two newly resurfaced tennis courts and an large (106,000 gallon) swimming pool with an adjoining kiddies pool.  The facility can also be rented for private banquet facilities and offers year round operation for our community.  The area also benefits from a large investment by the community in YMCA facilities  A state of the art facility opened within the past ten years is within a ten-minute drive of the Woodbridge communities.  Parks such as Kings Mountain National Military Park (revolutionary war battle of Kings Mountain),  Kings Mountain State Park and South Mountains State Park  along with the newly opened Kings Mountain Greenway trail are within a twenty minute drive from our communities   A forty-five minute drive will take you to the Cowpens National Battlefield, another pivotal revolutionary war battle site in neighboring South Carolina.  Cleveland Mall is less than a ten minute drive from our communities.  Here you will find shopping, local and chain dining and a ten screen Carmike Cinema.

Healthcare

Health care is available in Shelby and Kings Mountain with Cleveland Regional Medical Center  and Kings Mountain Hospital both leased and operated by Carolinas Healthcare System in Charlotte  one of the largest health care systems in North Carolina.  Physicians of all disciplines have offices in Shelby and Kings Mountain.  In addition, Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia is only a 20-minute drive from our communities.

Shopping & Dining

Shelby, Kings Mountain and the county offer a wide variety of shopping and dinning experiences.  From Cleveland Mall, east of Shelby, to the boutique stores in Shelby and Kings Mountain, you can find anything you need for home or person.  A short drive to Gaffney, SC leads you to Prime Outlets with over 70 store outlet stores in a campus environment.  Dinning, from chains to fine dinning and local favorites is within easy access to our communities.  Barbecue at Red Bridges or Allston’s,  fine to causal dinning at Rose Hill, Smoke on the Square, Joes Place, Shelby Cafe and  Pleasant City Grill are a few of the options in nearby Shelby.  In Kings Mountain causal dinning or breakfast at  Kiser's,  barbeque and more at Big E's along with many others are just a few of the options.
